7th Day (Sabbath) “The Delight of a Day”

Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Ex. 31:18, Ex. 20:8-11, Mk. 2:27, John 14:15

God said, On the first day let there be light: and there was the sun. The second day God divided the waters and formed sky and the waters on the earth. The third day God divided the water from dry land and brought forth grass, herbs, and fruits. The fourth day God made the moon and stars. The fifth day God made the living things in the water and air. The sixth day God created cattle, creeping things, and beast of the earth. On that same day, God created man in His own image.

And finally, on the seventh day God rested from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it.“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy…” God has given me a day of rest, and He knew I would forget, while I was caught up in my work of trying to prosper. So He reminds me, He gave six days for common labor. He made it plain that, the seventh-day is the Sabbath of the Lord God, Creator.  He gave instructions to head of households not to work, to teach sons and daughter the same and not to employ workers or rent out equipment and to make this clear to visitors.

God shows His right to direct the obedience to rest. He reveals His seal, “... For in six days the Lord created heaven, earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed It.” This day is to me a delight of all the days of the week. It is the one I look forward to the most.

I have found the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Thank God for the day of rest. There is great benefit in reading and studying the Holy Scriptures daily, yet, abundant life is achived in obedience to the Word. Meditating and searching deep for personal wealth will result in receiving physical, mental, social and spiritual health.

Did you notice what God started on the 1st day He completed on the 4th, and what He started on the 2nd day He completed on the 5th, and what He started on the 3rd day He completed on the 6th? So what He started on the 7th day of creation He will complete at His 2nd coming, then an earth made new.

Thank God for a day of rest from the cares of this world.
