I will act now! First I will learn to pray. I realize every thought is translated and interpreted by God. Through prayer (focused thought) a relationship will develop, as with father and son. I will then listen to His instructions found written in the Holy Scripture, Interpreted by the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. As I read and meditate on them today, His will becomes clear to me.
Now it is time to act. When I go about my work today, I will know I have a comforter a teacher, a wonderful counselor and a mighty God who is a present help in my time of need. I know I have nothing to fear unless I should forget how He has delivered me in the past. I am reminded that He left me in this world to be a witness of His power, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and love.
In all of my efforts it is my responsibility to show forth the quality of a Word of God-centered life. Jesus overcame the world, this is success. I am successful because I follow Him. Faith is responsibility, my response to God’s ability.
Never has there been a map, however carefully executed to detail and scale, which carried its possessor over one inch of ground. Never has there been a legistration of law, however fair, which prevented one crime. Never has there been a concept no matter how ingeniously presented, produced a single change in conditions.
I will not avoid the tasks of today and charge them to tomorrow, for I will act now. Let me after prayer and study act even though my actions may not bring apparent happiness and success for it is better to act and fail than not to act and regret it. Happiness, in truth, may not be the fruit plucked by my actions, yet without action all fruit will die on the vine. I have the commission. This is the time.
