Attitude:

When positive eliminates negative and determines our destination in life.

Attitude is everything; in the Christian culture we can see this plainly:

All of my experiences have been good for me including the suffering. Now, I can love the principles of God’s Law more than ever. God didn’t give all the answers to anyone of us, yet He gave the answer in part to everyone of us. Theoretical knowledge about changing negative life-styles is one thing; practical knowledge is another. Mere knowledge in one area is dangerous, if you think the part you have is the most important. Wisdom knows the need to demonstrate liberty on every occasion, even if it costs liberties, it will be well worth the effort. It knows that the supreme value does not lie in facts, but in people; this is why Love is greater than knowledge.

Mere knowledge is not only unable to deal with the individual's situation; it fails on the point of pride. It gives the one who ultimately makes the decisions the false sense of being right. With this power they will feel if the plan is not carried out and if the desired results are not to their specifics, they can just shut it down. Love is the superior way because it builds up. Love knows that knowledge alone will not succeed. In the name of knowledge we may destroy a fellow brother or sister for whom Christ died. Christian freedom always bears in mind the conscience of other Christians and is able to voluntarily renounce its rights so that the gospel may go forward.

Love sees Christ in every man and woman, Christ identifies Himself with the people. What a difference this truth should make in the way we treat one another. The problem arises when we allow our emphasis on knowledge to become unbalanced. Many in the past have went to great lengths to have the doctrine right, but he who was without Love was therefore not a good witness for the (Love, Power, Grace) character of our God.

When the ultimate goal for acquiring and using knowledge is to control, control becomes the controller. Whenever you attempt to control events, conditions and people sacrifice their self-control. The Spirit of God and the spirit of Satan both demand surrender not just submission, man will be controlled by one of the two, not man. We might not be responsible for our condition, situation, and/or problems, but we are responsible for seeking healing, being open to change, and accepting positive solutions.

DEVELOPING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE TOWARD CHANGE:

 1. DO look for the best in all situations, events, and people.
DON’T settle for mediocrity just because of the stresses of the moment.

 2. DO develop a plan of action and pursue it.
DON’T settle for the old way just because the future is uncertain.

 3. DO share your thinking, your views, and your opinions.
DON’T go into your shell just because you feel like a target.

4. DO set your vision and your hopes before others.
DON’T foster the idea that all is lost because change is happening.

 5. DO seek help from others and invite their contribution.
DON’T believe that you have to do it all by yourself.

 6. DO continue to strive for the mastery.
DON’T shut down just because you suffered a setback.

 7. DO pursue excellence as your goal for yourself and others.
DON’T accept that second best is okay for now.

 8. DO radiate optimism, energy, and joy.
DON’T allow yourself to slip into “ain’t it awful.”

9. DO achieve self-control.
DON’T try to control others.

 10. DO remember “Faith is Responsibility; our response to God’s ability.”
DON’T attempt to do His will without His counsel.
